THE PRODUCT
Coral stone is the main construction material used in Coast Province due to its availability, pricing and heat isolating qualities. The standard size of stones is 14 x 7 x 7 inches. Machine cut stones are classified as follows:

Grade 1
This is perceived as the best quality stone owing to its straight cuts on all sides. Straight cuts are not only determined by the quality of the rock from which they are extracted but also the quality of the Stone Cutting machine and the workmanship of the machine operator. An evenly cut stone will cost more, but then you are assured of savings on the amount of cement used to join the stones. Grade one stones are comonly used for external walls and preferred for massive projects owing to the economies of scale based on the cement consumption.

Grade 2
The difference between a grade 2 stone and a grade 1 is that grade two stones tend to have rugged sides, largely owing to the quality of the rock from which they are extracted, quality of the machine and the workmanship of the machine operator. Grade 2 stones are slightly cheaper than Grade 1.
